Puget Sound Shrimp Fishing is Open April 17

Puget Sound Shrimp Fishing - The state of Washington announced when it is permitted for fisherman to begin fishing for shrimp. For the year of 2009, shrimp season begins April 17 for the entire state of Washington.

There are parts of the Puget Sound, however, that have restricted shrimp fishing areas. For example, fishing for Shrimp in the Port Townsend Shrimp District will not be open this season due to low numbers of shrimp in the area.

There will also be a limited number of hours you can fish for shrimp in a certain area of the Puget Sound as well. Before you go out to fish for shrimp, be sure to know where you can get optimal fishing for shrimp.
